Infineum International Ltd. is a world leader in the formulation, manufacturing and marketing of petroleum additives for lubricants and fuels. With their business centres located in the UK, USA and Singapore, Infineum is a global supply chain and also supplies for use in Singapore.
Due to the opening of a new branch in China, staff and technicians of the company are required to communicate and proceed with their work using Mandarin. Hence, ASTA School prepared 2 classes for them. Our lessons were tailor-made for their needs, and are also altered appropriately to suit their working environment, with one class consisting of staff members from the marketing, purchasing and financial department; while the other class consists of engineers from the maintenance, chemical analysis and technical division.
For the class of engineers, other than teaching them how to communicate in Mandarin, the lessons are also focused on conversations with the use of technical terms. This is to ensure that engineers are equipped with skills to communicate during their work with their Chinese counterparts.
For the class of staff members, other than learning business Mandarin, such as to use Mandarin to conduct meetings, discussing about business development, advertising, and handling and resolving complaints from customers, current events are also brought into the classrooms. Throughout the course, not only did they learn more about the Mandarin and the Chinese culture, they have also become very interested in the way Chinese people think and their points of view. Also, our teachers have also bonded well with the students, bringing them closer to one another and made the learning Mandarin an enjoyment.
