
This course provides students to communicate with a wide range of information and introduce topics to attain variety of purposes. They interact effectively, adopting various language strategies in reading, speaking, and writing and grammar skills to give confident in written and oral communication. It also provides ample opportunities to listen to instructions and share ideas with peers to complete the desired language tasks.
Students further read and view short literary and factual texts, using an increasing variety of skills and strategies including context, grammar, word usage and make connections between their own experiences and information in texts. Students also recognise structure and grammatical features and conventions of punctuations and correspondence.
At the end of the course, the students will be able to:
* use simple tenses and perfect tenses;
* form nouns and gerunds;
* discuss verb forms in the narrative and other continuous aspect in other tenses;
* use and non use of articles, word combinations, modals and related verbs;
* apply strategies for vocabulary learning e.g. context clue, word formation through suffixes & prefixes;
